Sounds of Hope in Paraguay

Music, Video

The passion of one social entrepreneur (Luis Szaran) in Paraguay has created a solution that will dramatically improve the quality of life for countless people.

Free music lessons and instruments for children in the poorest slums.

The goal is to help redeem the lives of poor and neglected children through music

Luis Szaran says, “It is not only about good musicians, but also about good citizens.”

Luis Szaran has established music schools in more than a hundred communities across Paraguay and is now expanding into five other countries.

A simple idea that can change the world most profoundly.

Lies he told his four year old

Joseph Campbell, Mythology, Parenting

Is it OK to lie to your child?

Read this list of lies before you answer that question.

I wish my parents told me these lies.

I wish I told my son more of these lies when he was young.

NOTE: If you don’t want to call them lies, call them one-sentence stories.

I recently read Joseph Campbell’s book “Pathways to Bliss.” The quality of these lies reminds me of his description of the many roles mythology plays in our life.

Lies he told his three year old.
Lies he told his four year old.
Lively thread on metafilter about the lies parents tell.
